However, it is now found that players can make the process of earning EXP more fun by using a small trick which is to use the ability of self-destruct.

You see, there are some rival trainers in Lumiose City who have Pokémon that can self-destruct. These trainers are NPC and therefore have no understanding that their Pokémon can be exploited to gain EXP.

According to X user @Anthony_0313, there are NPC trainers with self-destruct ability Pokémon who will use this ability during your fight. When you fight these Pokémon, they would immediately explode resulting in defeating the trainer. However, if you are able to run away quickly before, self-destruct activate then you will be able to earn EXP as well as you won't have defeated the trainer. Therefore, you can again act in repeated manner to activate self-destruct and then run away and thus farm the situation.

 

Anthony_0313 urges players to utilize the bug before developers start to patch up the issue even though developer should not prevent gamers from running away from a fight. This trick is significantly useful for gamers who are interested in farming Shiny Charm, where gamer need to finish around 1000 battles. Even though battling 1000 battles can become boring for many players, these bugs are silver lining that help players to stay motivated to complete these objectives.
