This is first time, Konami has selected Unreal Engine of Epic games to develop PES game to improve features of its game. According to producer of Konami PES, Seitaro Kimura, using Unreal Engine allows its designers to complete various tasks without taking help of programmers which was earlier necessary. This is possible due to use of Blueprint. This helps in improving the speed of processing and developing this game. It also increases skills of every individual designer.Konami has made deals with many football clubs to obtain exclusive rights for their clubs usage. Recently, Konami made agreement with Atlanta club of Serie A. These agreements with football clubs allow Konami to compete with EA games. Although, EA games have license deals with La Liga, Bundesliga and Premier League, Konami has been able to make inroads through exclusive license deals with individual teams. Juventus, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have always been flag-bearer of Konami thus allowing good visibility among gamers. Recent deal with Atlanta will help Konami further in this direction. Therefore, Atlanta will not be available in FIFA games anymore.
In international games, PES has secured EURO 2020 however, it lost both Europa league and Champions League to FIFA. Still many leagues have signed up with Konami including French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, Dutch Eredivisie and Scottish Premiership.
