Pokemon Unite to be released on Nintendo Switch this July

On 17th June, 2021, The Pokemon International Company and Tencent Games' TIMI Studio Group jointly announced that their new Pokemon game named "Pokemon: Unite" will be released on Nintendo Switch this July. It will be followed by release of the game in mobile phones in the month of September 2021. The game is planned to be free-for-all game with only in-game purchases available for gamers. The game will be strategic team battle game where each trainer will form a team with other players and battle a similar team to win a pokemon match. A new trailer for this game is available in Official Pokemon Unite Youtube channel.



Cross Platform gaming:

Pokemon: Unite is planned to be a cross platform game so that players playing in Switch as well as mobile can interact and play as both team as well as enemies. It is planned that players using Switch as well as phones will be able to interact and be part of a same team whenever required. It will also allow gamers to use their personal Nintendo Account as well as Pokemon Trainer Club Account which can be used to access the game from any device available to gamer. Therefore, a gamer who usually plays the game in Switch can use his or her mobile phone to play the game if Switch is not available. This cross platform allows gamer to cast game in TV screen when at home and play in mobile phone when outside home. The game will automatically synced itself when logged from different devices.

Story of game:

Pokemon Unite takes place in the Island of Aeos. Aeos Island is a mystical island which was earlier unknown to humans due to its location being in an unexplored region of pokemon world. Trainers around the world are eager to participate in this game. The Pokemon Unite games are run by Unite Battle Committee (UBC) which controls the tournaments where trainers form a team of five to fight against each team. Each tournament has limited time within which the team need to score most points to win the tournament. Team that displays more strategic moves and maneuverability will be able to defeat opponents and win tournament. 
Aeos Island has special mysterious power which influence the pokemons that visit the island. Trainers around world bring their pokemon so that they can experience this power and evolve as well as learn new moves during battles. 

Gameplay:

Each trainer chooses one pokemon and therefore a total of five pokemons represent a team in battles. Each pokemon is levelled at Lv.1 before start of battle.

Pokemon Levels:

Each of the pokemon is at Lv.1 before each battle. During battle, Aeos energy enable pokemon to level up as well as evolve. During battles, pokemon gain experience points which allow pokemon to level up and allow it to learn new powerful moves. When pokemon gets evolved to its highest form, it can also learn its ultimate move named, Unite move which it can use to change the result of whole tournament. Player gets to decide which moves should pokemon learn and use when successfully learned.

Different roles of Pokemon:

Each of the pokemons have different stats and play one of the five roles which are All-Rounder, Defender, Attacker, Speedster and Supporter. Trainer need to test against other pokemons to identify the perfect role for their pokemon. Trainer need to obtain Unite license so that they can use their pokemon in Unite battle. The licenses are obtained from UBC using the Aeon coins which are earned during battles.

Rules of game:

In a battle, two teams consisting each of five members will fight. Each trainer can use a single pokemon  During battle, pokemon fights against wild pokemon as well as opponent pokemons. During fight there can be appearance of legendary wild pokemon which can change the tide of battle in favour. When a pokemon is defeated it leaves behind Aeos energy which is collected by winner pokemon. The collected Aeos energy is deposited by player in goal zone of opponent player. Each scoring moment is displayed by dunking action. The team scoring most points will the battle. 
Each of the stadiums have different time length as well as rules. Different legendary pokemons appear for different pokemon stadiums.

Usable Items:

There can be Held items as well as Battle items which can be provided to pokemon by trainer. Held items are items that pokemon can hold with them. A pokemon can hold three items.which can be provided by trainer to complement the skills of pokemon. There are 15 kinds of hold items.
Battle items are used during battle which can be used during battle by trainer to support their pokemon.

Rewards:

Trainers can obtain in-game rewards by battling other players. Rewards can be holowear for pokemon as well as outfits for trainer.  New pokemon can also be unlocked as reward. Player can also unlock reward using Aeos gems which are earned using real-world money. There are three forms of currency in game where Aeos gems are paid currency whereas Aeos coins and Aeos tickets are earned through battle.

Ubisoft working on a new Splinter Cell game

Rumors are going around that a new Splinter Cell game is being developed by Ubisoft following the release of VR game based on Splinter Cell franchise.  The Latest game would be traditional game for PCs, and consoles. Recently there has been Easter eggs of Splinter Cell in different Ubisoft games such as Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Although, it initially was meant to energize the brand of Sam Fisher once again, it backfired as fans were not in a mood to enjoy Easter eggs.
