Changes coming in Dragon Quest:
During the teaser release it was announced that the game will be more open ended when compared to the previous installments of the game. According to the lead creator of this game, Yuji Horri this game will allow the player to have more options to choose when compared to previous games. It will help in diversify the results that the player can obtain by playing this game. It will also encourage the players to find out the different endings of this game.
Previously, the game had cheery vibes even though the protagonist needed to defeat the enemy. However, for the first time the game is moving towards dark fantasy where the encounter between the protagonists and antagonist is going to be more intimate than before. Even series creator Yuji Horri stated that the game can be considered as "Dragon Quest for Adults ".
Dragon Quest 12 will retain its combat system. which is traditional turn based combat system. Thus the players need to await turn to attack enemies. Dragon Quest 12 will retain the usage of Unreal Engine 5 which was first used in Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age.
Dragon Quest 12 is being developed as well as published by Square Enix. No official date has been announced related to the release of the game or release of trailer. Only a teaser reveal event was carried out on the 35th Anniversary of Dragon Quest.
