QUICK TIPS:
  • Release Date: April 1 2021
  • Platform: Xbox, Playstation, PC and Nintendo

OVERVIEW
The demo was released in the month of Februray 2021 and it attracted many gamers. However, there were issues of bug, lack of cross platform connectivity as well as inferior graphics. These issues made the game lacklustre.
The game was released in April 2021 by developer People can fly and published by Square Enix. It was announced that the game would be multiplayer and will have facility of cross platform operations. However, players were facing issues ranging from unable to login to unable to play multiplayer mode game. Moreover, as the game is online there is no option of pausing the game to make changes to inventory during fights.
ISSUES AFTER RELEASE
Many of the issues were resolved with incoming of April 9 patch which sorted the issue of login issues as well as cross platform operatibility. However, still the issue of constant online presence of the game remained stuck out like a sore thumb. However, bug issue such as crashing of game during mining remained even after the patch availablity. There were issue of ghost vibration in controllers. controllers would continue vibrating without any prooper reason.
Animation was not upto the mark as there were several glitches during cutscenes as well as texture inconsistency. Sometimes the weapons also loaded automatically.
STORY
Story revolves around an individual who becomes the last outrider to survive in another planet named Enoch. With Earth being unhabitable, people are forced to live in Enoch in a resourceless region. This results in civil war which can be only stopped by Outrider.
The outriders defeat enemies to reach the boundary of the region which is separated by a storm named Anomaly from other parts of the planet. However, similar stories are found in same genre of games such as Destiny 2 and Gear of Wars and therefore the story is forgettable. Many of the dialogues are abusive in nature and one liners. There is lack of colour options as major ambience is brown colour.
GAMEPLAY
The game is a third person shooter and looter game. The player can choose out of four classes to play which have different strengths and weaknesses. However, the game is more on the looter side with loots available from killing enemies as well as frequent loot boxes. Moreover, there is constraint in viewing the character from other angles. The weapons are also sold by different merchants. However, most of the weapons are similar and predictable variant of same weapons. There is issue of ducking for cover as many times player character ducks only are several attempts resulting in getting injured by enemy fire. Many gamers are unhappy about the easiness of improving skills as skills are easily gained when compared to similar games such as Destiny games. Player has god like features resulting in very easy to play and win the game. The game is more enjoyable when played in multiplayer mode rather than solo.

VERDICT
  • Game is a forgettable game as it has linear story similar to same genre games.
  • Game is more enjoyable by playing in multiplayer mode
  • Gamers were expecting much better game in terms of graphics, story and other characters of the game.
